There was a time that most illegal drug users were getting their drugs from a dealer. Now, statistics show that 70% of people over age 12 are getting them from family or friends. Only 4% come from actual illegal drug dealers.
Ross County Sheriff George Lavender and Coroner John Gabis were among the presenters at the Ross Drug Abuse Prevention Coalition's Community Forum Wednesday evening.
They both urged people to lock-up their prescription medications at home and get rid of unused old meds, by bringing them in to the county's drug take-back dispenser at the Ross County law Complex.
